Edible Carnations supplied by

Edible flowers look beautiful as a decoration. Any meal with some edible flowers as decoration would look special. I very much love the red carnations our daughter gave us the other day. We had a good time eating them last night! Thank you, Caroline, for giving us such a special gift.

What do they taste like? Are they bitter? Fragrant in your mouth? Crunchy? Crisp?

Good question, Mary-Ann. Yes, the carnations were crisp and cruchy, a bit like lettuce leaves, no bitter taste whatsoever. But we did eat only the flower, not the bit of green around the flower, which was too hard.
