Auntie, Sister. Grandmother, Great-Grandmother,
Mother and Wife of German Descent
I've lived in Australia since 1959 together with my husband Peter. We have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I started blogging because I wanted to publish some of my childhood memories. I am blogging now also some of my other memories. I like to publish some photos too as well as a little bit of a diary from the present time. Occasionally I publish a story with a bit of fiction in it. Peter, my husband, is publishing some of his stories under berlioz1935.wordpress.com

I love the family photos. Looks like a wonderful family outing. Fun!
The kangaroo with her joey is delightful! And the birds in that picture are simply stunning. What are they?
We always took a few sunflower seeds with us to feed the parrots at Sussex Inlet. Peter tells me .in that Nature Reserve at Sussex Inlet and at Green Patch the dominant parrots iwere Crimson Rosellas. I thought they were Lorikeets, The parrots called ‘lorikeets’ now sometimes come to the grevilleas here were we live not far from Sydney. These parrots look lovely colorful too.
The two red birds on the fence with blue feathers are Crimson Rosellas, the third smaller bird with green feathers presumably is a young Rosella. As far as I know the feathers turn blue as he grows up.
In this picture with the kangaroo which we called ‘Broken Nose’ you can see in the background our yellow station wagon. Our family had rented two units for this winter weekend. We were the only holidaymakers for that weekend. We had the whole place to ourselves!
