Peter surprised me today with the suggestion that we could go to Cremorne. When I heard this I agreed straight away. What a great idea it was to be spending a wonderful, sunny winter day at Sydney Harbour!
The train from Dapto did get us into the city. From Circular Quay we took a Ferryboat across the harbour and got off one stop before Cremorne. All the time Peter and I took lots of pictures. We entered the Cremorne Reserve. From there we could take breath taking picture looking over the water towards the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.
Later on we travelled by bus to the centre of Cremorne where we entered a little coffee shop for a well deserved cup of coffee and a bit of cake. 🙂
After our coffee break we took the next bus to the centre of Sydney from where we caught our train back home. We arrived back home in Dapto at 5,45 pm very tired but happy to have had another beautiful day, making very good use of the marvellous Australian winter weather.
We had to climb up here.Half way up I had a bit of a rest.Apparently someone put this quote up in 1936!Peter took this picture on our way up to Cremorne Reserve.I was getting a bit hot already and waited in a shady spot.
We started our bush walk here.Soon we had lovely views across the water.
Here is another Ferry stop. But we decided to catch the bus

I've lived in Australia since 1959 together with my husband Peter. We have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I started blogging because I wanted to publish some of my childhood memories. I am blogging now also some of my other memories. I like to publish some photos too as well as a little bit of a diary from the present time. Occasionally I publish a story with a bit of fiction in it. Peter, my husband, is publishing some of his stories under berlioz1935.wordpress.com

It’s good to see you getting out and about and enjoying the beauty around you – and after all that exertion, you deserved your coffee an cake xx
We know this particular ferry trip from the time when one of our daughters lived in the area. Thanks for commenting, Elizabeth. We always love to have a look at the harbour, especially in good weather. 🙂
What a great outing Auntyuta, lovely surprise from Peter.
Cannot recall ever being at circular quay, but do remember see a play at the Sydney Opera house many years ago.

Circular Quay is right next to the Opera House, Ian. Can you remember how you got there? Most people walk along the Quay to the Opera House. But of course you can be dropped off by taxi or you can reach the Opera House by walking through the Botanic Gardens.
The past few days have become rather chilly, don’t you think?
We are rugged up sitting next to a heater! 🙂
Cheers,

Yes, indeed, Cat. The service was very friendly. We really appreciated it. 🙂
Just around the corner from where my brother lives. I know the area well.
I love the harbour and the ferry trips.
