Yesterday Peter invited me for lunch for my birthday. We went to Shellharbour Village, for I thought it would be nice to find a place where we could be eating outside. Shellharbour Village was just right for finding a place like that. Near where we parked we noticed this place called Country Kitchen Cafe. Straight away I said, I would like to go there.
This is a street in Shellharbour Village. We could see it from the cafe where we were sitting outside.
We soon found some seats outside in the sun and looked at the menu. I liked the way they served my tea. Also the food which I ordered looked very appetising. I was very happy with everything. Peter ordered apple juice instead of tea and chicken filet on Turkish bread.
Peter watched some seagulls from where we were sitting. Here is one of the pictures he took:
Coffee and cake we had at home. We had a good day and now I am looking forward to see my family next Saturday.
These are my birthday flowers. A neighbour gave me a Fly-Bird Garden-Rock with Hope written on it.

I've lived in Australia since 1959 together with my husband Peter. We have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I started blogging because I wanted to publish some of my childhood memories. I am blogging now also some of my other memories. I like to publish some photos too as well as a little bit of a diary from the present time. Occasionally I publish a story with a bit of fiction in it. Peter, my husband, is publishing some of his stories under berlioz1935.wordpress.com

As I get older, I really appreciate those birthday celebrations that are spread out over several days instead of in one burst of frenzy! It sounds as if you are really savouring this special anniversary and stockpiling a few precious memories. Blessings xx
It seems to me, Cat, that my birthday celebrations more often than not are spread out now over several days. 60 years ago, my 21st birthday, was no special event. I mean it was not celebrated in great style. But I knew Peter already. So this was very special for me! 🙂

Thank you, Kathy. 🙂
Ah, birthdays are wonderful things even as our bodies start to betray us in ways both large and small. It sounds like yours was as good as it gets.
“As good as it gets”, yes, thank you Janet. I like this comment! 🙂
