Well, Aunty. This is no surprise. The state of this country has gone to pot! Imagine a citizenry where a buffoon is hailed as a possible next leader, with yet another clown of a female (I would never consider her a lady. My high school philosophy professor had told us that ladies and gentlemen are only duly addressed as such if they conduct themselves as such. To this day, I stand by what he espoused!) who put the rest of the female sex to shame. We have an electorate who has so much carnage around them—Think Sandy Hook, Roseburg in Oregon last year, Boson in 2013, just to name a few. And the response is, “Let’s have more guns around!” This is a country where money and position trumps human rights Think Flint in Michigan where the water is not fit to even wash your car, or we have to put up with history repeating itself in such predictable frequency with the Eric Garners and Christian Taylors of this sad sad world we live in), or the GOP hell bent on repealing the Universal Health Care program that dignifies human life no matter the color, race or creed, or all the slimy moves to reverse the rights of women to decide what they want to do with their bodies by right-wing ultra-conservative paternalistic chauvinists so they can continue to subjugate women not much different from how the extremists in the Middle East continue to disrespect women.
See what I mean? How could the people we rely on to protect the country let that one slip? I can name so many reasons…..
Maybe the ones in power are only out to protect their own interests? I wonder, under which system could some people get into power who have at their heart the protection of the whole country (and the whole world for that matter!)?

How is this German saying? Something like “man ist sich selbst der Nächste”, meaning one thinks of their own convenience and advantage first. It shows that “love thy neighbour” is not generally practiced in our so called Christian culture.
Another saying comes to mind: “Leben und leben lassen”. I think this means “live and let live”. To let others live too, wouldn’t this be so much better? Why can we not promote sharing instead of competing all the time?
When referring to the American administration as “too dumb” …of course you’re specifically referencing the feckless cowardly Obama Administration.
