“Yes, that Saturday before Kingโs Birthday was a very good day for us. I felt very good on Sunday too. but later on Monday I stared feeling a bit sick. On Wednesday I felt so sick that I went to see the doctor. I was given a lot of tests then. Most of the tests just confirmed my very good health. Yes, normally I still feel quite healthy. The course of antibioltics I am taking now nay hopefully clear up a minor infection.”
So, it had actually been a bit of food poisoning that had caused the sickness. I feel quite alright now.

I’m so sorry to hear of you being ill, Uta!
Food poisoning can be the worst! ๐ฆ I’ve only had it once…back in the early 1980’s and I still remember all about it in detail!

Thank you so much for your reply, dear Carolyn. ๐
Last Friday I enjoyed very much a few pieces of Rollmops that is sour pieces of herring filled with gerkin and onion pieces. There were a few pieces left in the glass which I straight away refrigerated. By Suncday night the herring had developed a very strong smell. Stupidly I did eat a bit more of that herring and ended up with painful food poisoning the following days. Luckily by Wednesday I felt alright again. ๐
My local Medical Centre sent me (by taxi) to the emergency ward of that major hospital in Wollongong. There they have facilities for all sort of tests, doing them day and night. It is a busy, busy place. Luckily there was no need for me to stay there for very long. I was allowed to go home (by taxi) the following morning. It is taken for granted that with a bit of help I am still able to look after myself at home. For some cleaning and general household duties I usually get every Monday morning some help for exacly 3 hours. So, the home help woman is a very nice lady, and I can talk to her a lot. I also talk a lot with my 86 year old friend Les. We do not feel so lonely if we can visit each other often. Of course at certain times I can also talk to some of my family as well as to a lot of people at the nearby club that I can walk to. However, I am extremely slow moving in everything. Despite of this I have still a certain amount of independence that I treasure a lot! ๐

I’m glad you’re feeling better now, Uta, but what a shame. It must have been rough. ๐ฅฒ
Thanks, Debra! ๐
So glad you recovered from the food poisoning and that you’re normally in good health.
Indeed, Carole, my health is normally quite good. This so very lucky! I am now again as good as can be. ๐
