Some of my Childhood Memories towards the End of World War II

One song was a song from Tirol about some young men who go looking over the fence to see a girl, the one who looks after the cows.

King’s Birthday Public Holiday

Monday, June 10th, 2024, was a Public Holiday in NSW. So, the long weekend did start on Friday evening. For Caroline and Matthew that meant they were able to come and see us in Dapto on Saturday and still having Sunday and Monday off work.
A special treat was that Caroline and Matthew drove with Les and me up Macquarie Pass. Their new car went very easily up that Pass. It was a very good drive, especially since all that rain had finally stopped.
Naturally we had some pies at the Robertson Pieshop which turned out to be as delicious as always. All in all we had a very enjoyable day.

On Wednesday the 7th of February I watched a NETFLIX Video that used to be very controversial

Lady Chatterley’s Lover

Wikipediahttps://en.wikipedia.org › Lady_Chatterley’s_Lover

Lady Chatterley’s Lover is the last novel by English author D. H. Lawrence, which was first published privately in 1928, in Italy, and in 1929, in France.

What was so controversial about Lady Chatterley’s lover?

The book was also banned for obscenity in the United States, Canada, Australia, India and Japan. The book soon became notorious for its story of the physical (and emotional) relationship between a working-class man and an upper-class woman, its explicit descriptions of sex and its use of then-unprintable profane words

Here is the official trailer of that movie that I watched yesterday:

Nov 4, 2022Connie, born into wealth & privilege, finds herself married to a man she no longer loves. When she meets Oliver, the estate’s gamekeeper, their secret trysts lead her to a sexual awakening. She faces a decision: follow her heart or return to her husband and endure what society expects of her. Starring Emma Corrin & Jack O’Connell. Directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre.

Sunday Diary

Here in Australia it is nearly 7AM now. So, Good Morning everyone!

Yesterday I was thinking a lot of my dear sister-in-law. Her name is Ilse. She turns 90 this year in May, on the 13th of May that is. I wished I could go and visit her! My husband Peter had his birthday on the 16th of May. So, Peter and his sister Ilse had been just one year and three days apart. Peter and Ilse had always been very close. Peter and I migrated in 1959 from Germany to Australia. Over the years Peter and I went often for visits to Germany and Ilse did visit us several times here in Australia and liked Australia very much. Ilse still lives in Berlin, Germany. Ilse and Peter often talked to each other on the phone right to his end. (Peter passed away in December 2020.)

Two years ago, in May 2022, I had the chance to fly to Berlin for a short visit. It was great that I could see dear Ilse then for her 88th birthday. I wished I could visit her again this year for her birthday!

I could write more now, however I want to restrict myself and stop with writing at this stage to start the day. I wish for everyone to have a good Sunday. See you tomorrow again!
