I reckon one gets a wonderful impression watching this 2 and a half minute video about Newcastle’s Merewether Beach. This video was made in 2015:

we had lunch in Newcastle at beaches cafe. We had this view from the terrace of the cafe:

I had four prawn cutlets. They were delicious. The chips and salad were good too. After lunch we went down to the beach for coffee and ice-cream:

Diary, August 2017

Just one week ago we arrived there and stayed only for the weekend. We had booked three units. Each unit could accommodate four adults plus two children. There were only in one unit some children, that is, there were of course our lovely great-grandsons: Lucas (5) and Alexander (nearly 3). Unfortunately no-one did take a group picture. But we are going to have a great memory about this weekend anyway.

It says that the wildlife should not be fed by us!

Photos from Ilse’s Visit in 1999 (continued)

I found some more photos from Ilse’s visit in 1999. They bring back so many memories. And I am sure that there are still some more photos from that visit somewhere. The photos that are available cover quite a few things we did during Ilse’s two months stay here with us. I never kept a diary at the time. And of course within the two months we did more things than what is shown via the photos. Gaby used to keep an awful lot of photos. We ended up with all of Gaby’s photos after she passed away. To go through all of these photos would be an immense task. I do not feel like doing this right now. But I do believe that amongst all of Gaby’s photos there would be some mote photos of Ilse’s visit.

The Chinese Gardens in Sydney are very beautiful.

I mentioned in my previous blog that we were with Ilse in the Chinese Gardens in Sydney, and I published two pictures from that visit. Here is just another photo of the gardens. I should publish one day a whole blog with pctures of these gardens. It is a wonderful place and invites you to take lots and lots of pictures. The above picture is actually from 1999. Peter took quite a few more picture on that day but for today only this one photo for I want to publish above all some more photos with Ilse.

Here is a photo that was taken on the 18th of April 1999., also with Gaby’s camera. I do remember that on that day were travelling all the way from Parramatta along the Parramatta River to Sydney Harbour where the Opera House came into sight. We did get off the boat at Circular Quay.

We went with Ilse to the Blue Mountains.

I recall we went with Ilse also to the Wollongong Botanic Gardens and to the Nan Tien Temple. Ilse loved all our outings. And of course several beaches would also have been on our itinerary.

Diary

Here’s Bulli Beach again! We had another lovely time there last week on Tuesday. We decided we would stay there for lunch. And of course we had some coffee as well.

From where we were sitting we could look down to the swimming-pool.

Yesterday, that is on Sunday, 7th of April 2013, I opened another “Page”. It’s called Uta’s early Childhood. I was able to retrieve some of my early childhood pictures and published them in this “Page”. I have heaps and heaps more childhood pictures in my album, which is of course ancient. The pictures start with the day of my birth, which was on 21st of September 1934. I have at the moment some difficulties with my scanner. With Peter’s help I may eventually work something out how to do further scanning. However, for the next two weeks or so I can’t do anything about it. It’ll have to wait!

We have plans for the next two weeks! Early on Wednesday, this is the 10th of this month, we’re going to leave for a lovely little holiday in the country. We’re also going to spend some time in Melbourne with our son and his extended family. We are very much looking forward to finally see all the Melburnians again. Also going to see another granddaughter who’s coming to Melbourne from Newcastle during her school holidays. This granddaughter we missed out on seeing a year ago. So we’re glad we can finally see her again.

We plan to be back home on Saturday, 21st of this month.
