Peter and I had our fifty-first Wedding Anniversary in 2007. We stayed at Darling Harbour in Sydney. The beautiful Chincese Gardens were close by. As you can see, we took lots of pictures there
Our hotel was the NOVOTEL at Darling Harbour. We did get a room there for the weekend at a very much reduced price. It had been a special offer on the internet. So for one weekend we had five star luxury!

50 years of marriage, of partnership, of speaking to someone at the end of the day of the trials of the day, of decisions made together, of love, of embrace at the end of the day and in sad moments:
CONGRATULATIONS, FOR 2007 🙂 Tell Peter I said so!!
My goodness, I was saying to someone recently “but what is there to see in Sydney?” I had no idea these stunning gardens existed. Truly, truly beautiful. The light in the pictures is vibrant. LOVE the greenery, but was surprised the water is green!! But that’s healthy water, isn’t it, in a setting like this?
This is just great, Aunty Uta, I might get to Sydney one day, after all.
HAVE A BEAUT WEEK 🙂
Hi, Noeleen,
I loved your reply. Thanks for the CONGRATULATIONS1 Yes, I’ll tell Peter about it. When you go to one of my blogs from December 2011 you’ll find that we were able to celebrate our 55th Anniversary with some family members in a beautiful restaurant.
Our 50th anniversary in 2006 we celebrated with the whole tribe, having lunch in Sydney’s Centennial Park. Later on our daughter Caroline had us over at her place for some more celebrating.
The lunch was in the midst of the park in a very nice cafe. We took pictures of the whole tribe in front of the cafe. If we are lucky, we might make it to 60 years. Who knows?
The other day we saw an old movie with Sidney Poitier: Paris Blues. He said in the movie, it is not so much what you see in a city, but how you feel in it. Peter says on the whole he feels better in Melbourne than in Sydney, even though there are some nice places in Sydney.
I hope you can make it for a visit to Sydney. Why not bring Daniel along too? We could introduce him to our family. There are people his age in our family, you know?
HAVE A BEAUT WEEK TOO!
Love, Aunty Uta
Correction, Noeleen,
I just noticed pictures of last December’s celebrations (55th anniversary) I didn’t publish in December but on the 6th of January. Maybe you want to have a look in the ARCHIVES under January 2012.
There are actually several entries under 6th of January. You have to go back to where it says OLDER ENTRIES.
