Auntie, Sister. Grandmother, Great-Grandmother,
Mother and Wife of German Descent
I've lived in Australia since 1959 together with my husband Peter. We have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I started blogging because I wanted to publish some of my childhood memories. I am blogging now also some of my other memories. I like to publish some photos too as well as a little bit of a diary from the present time. Occasionally I publish a story with a bit of fiction in it. Peter, my husband, is publishing some of his stories under berlioz1935.wordpress.com

Uta.
Great pics and beautiful scenery Auntyuta, love the building in the first picture.

Thanks for commenting, Ian. I love the beautiful red colour of this tree in front of the building you mentioned. But I agree, this building looks good. Uta
Strahlsund has an interesting history and was a member of the Hanseatic League (13th to 17th Century) a forerunner of the Common Market.

Thanks very much, Peter, for this link to the Hanseatic League.
Stralsund looks like a very interesting city to visit. Thanks for the great photos!
After more than twenty years of reunification of Germany the places we’ve seen so far in the Eastern part of Germany look remarkably restored. It’s always a pleasure to see all these beautifully restored buildings. Thanks for you visit, Mary-Ann.
What is the name of that beautiful tree in the first photo?
Thanks for the inquiry, Robert. It made Peter and me try to find out something about this tree. We think it might be a beech tree. We found one picture of a copper beech tree in autumn and the leaves seem to have a similar color. But we could not say for sure the tree is the same kind of tree as in our picture. We’re only guessing!
Peter took this photo. We both love the color of the leaves.
Love everything about this place. The colors and architectural details are truly beautiful and exciting. Have a great weekend.
This is exactly how we felt about the place, dear IT. Wishing you and yours a great weekend to. We had the pleasure of having had yesterday a visit by one of our grandsons with his partner and 7 months old baby. And today our youngest daughter is coming from Sydney to stay with for the day. We’re looking forward to this!
