I saw the doctor today. He let me off lightly: He said the blood-tests are okay but when he took my blood pressure it was a bit too high again. He gave me some more time to get my blood pressure down. If it doesn’t improve, he wants to prescribe medication. He was happy that there’s no more swelling and no more pain. Ah, and he said to go easy on salt in my diet and to walk frequently. So far so good. Actually, I can give myself a pat on the shoulder today because this afternoon I actually did go for a walk. I bet the doctor would be pleased about this!
A few weeks ago I walked to the pool early in the morning. Strolling along the way I took some pictures of some flowers in the gardens in front of people’s houses. I always enjoy looking at all the gardens and I thought why not take some pictures? When I arrived at the pool there were already some cars in the parking lot. I went towards the entrance along this wall full of pictures which amuse. I couldn’t resist to shoot again some pictures of this wall.
The kiosk near the entrance was still closed. Later on, after my swim, I purchased a cup of coffee there which was made with a huge amount of foam on top and tasted very good. Because there were not many people in the pool yet, I dared to take some photos. I was careful to avoid having a full view of the persons, so they wouldn’t be recognized.
The pool-site area is beautifully landscaped. Besides the big pool there are two smaller pools. I was able to catch these on camera without difficulty. Due to the early morning hour no little kids had arrived yet to make use of the pools with shallow water.
I ventured to the left side at the top end of the large pool. Paddling around at the deep end of the pool I had a great time.
A bit later that day Peter and I went to Warrawong to see Dustin Hoffman’s movie “Quartet”. Peter went to get us coffee before the movie started. We were getting to the cinema a little bit late. Upon entering we got a shock. The place was totally empty. We happened to be the only patrons. Still, they showed the movie, just for us! The movie was great. Why hadn’t anyone turned up? Well, it started at 9,45 am. Maybe this was a bit early for some people. Plus, it had been pouring while we were driving from Dapto to Warrawong. The scene of the movie was a home for retired opera singers. It was very entertaining and I liked the music very much.
Lovely pool, Uta. Your cinema visit reminds me of the time my daughter and I went to see “The Importance of Being Ernest” – English language version in a small Swiss town – and we were the only ones in the audience. It’s a strange feeling!
I agree, Cat, we also felt a bit strange. None the less enjoyed the movie very much.
I like to go to this pool because it’s withing walking distance from our house and it’s solar heated. So I can go there even in winter. When there isn’t enough sunshine, they can back-up with electricity. The showers are always nice hot too!

Ja,,ich weiss, liebe Gislinde, solche ewigen Arztbesuche kkönnen einem ganz schön zusetzen. Ich hoffe ihr werdet dieses Jahr trotzdem einen sehe schönen Urlaub machen können. Urlaub machen ist doch was schönes!
It looks to me you are always having a good time, with or without me.
The incident with us being the only patrons in the cinema reminds me of somethjing similar years ago and I will write a blog about it.
Thanks for commenting, Berlioz. Something similar years ago? I sure would like to read about it! Looking forward to your post. Uta.
I confess I have a weakness for taking pictures of flowers and plants. I also have a fondness for gardens. Thanks for sharing the photos.
Thanks for commenting, Robert. I always love to walk past gardens with beautiful flowers.
People who are tending their gardens do it also for us. Their beautiful flowers increase our well-being.
I see it this way too, Berlioz. Thanks for commenting.
What an amazing day. From the beautiful blooms , to the refreshing fun times at the pool to the comforting coffee, everything is perfect. Thanks for sharing this wonderful event.
You’re right, dear IT, it was a perfect morning, not to forget that beautiful movie Imagine, they showed the full length movie just for Peter and me! Well, all the pictures were taken a few weeks ago and I hadn’t published them yet. But this morning is well remembered by me, not just for the pictures! For as long as this elderly person is in reasonably good health and isn’t burdened with debts. this elderly person living in Australia can have a beautiful morning like this any time.
My recent troubles with health started with gum and tooth problems. When I saw the dentist, he said the pain I was experiencing came from an abscess and he agreed to extract the tooth. Where the tooth had come out I have some problems now with my partials. On top of it I experienced some swelling in the groins, which eventually became extremely painful. This is why I saw my general practitioner. Since the blood-test proofed to be okay.and since I’m pain-free now (except for the gums) the doctor gave me the all clear. However, with high blood pressure the are some issues. I have to get it checked again in a few weeks.
I mentioned cramping in the legs. He advised to take magnesium. I asked about potassium. But he said no, no potassium.
I forgot to mention, since Monday, when I saw the doctor, I’ve been walking every day. I feel these frequent twenty minute walks are very good for me for as long as I consciously breathe the right way.
Gruss vom warmen Australien! Uta.
Great garden and lovely photos. 🙂
I love to take flower pictures, Eliz. I hope the people don’t mind I took the pictures of their gardens. It was in the early hours of the morning!
It is strange to be the only one in a cinema. Hubby and I have done that a few times. 🙂
This is amazing! 🙂
Reblogged this on auntyuta.
I am the only one of my siblings not on medication for high blood pressure and I have to watch it ALL the time. In September it was up quite a bit and I have been quite strict with my diet and exercise and reducing stress. It has been OK for a couple of months now and in fact at times keeps quite low.
I hope that yours is too. regards 🙂
Not to worry, Elizabeth, I think at the moment I am doing fine. But I know I have to watch it! 🙂
