I just noticed this blog with photos from Ilse’s visit in 1999. I reblog it here just to refresh our memories a bit more about this visit.
I found some more photos from Ilse’s visit in 1999. They bring back so many memories. And I am sure that there are still some more photos from that visit somewhere. The photos that are available cover quite a few things we did during Ilse’s two months stay here with us. I never kept a diary at the time. And of course within the two months we did more things than what is shown via the photos. Gaby used to keep an awful lot of photos. We ended up with all of Gaby’s photos after she passed away. To go through all of these photos would be an immense task. I do not feel like doing this right now. But I do believe that amongst all of Gaby’s photos there would be some mote photos of Ilse’s visit.

Uta 🙂
It’s nice to have such warm memories of the family.
Yes, Robert, very nice indeed. 🙂
BEAUTIFUL and precious, Aunty. The flowers are so lovely. Glad you have these photos.
Just looking at a photo of these Chinese Gardens brings back wonderful memories. Thank you, Diana, for visiting.
I just read your amazing blog THE POWER OF STORY TELLING and I also read most of the comments to this blog. I find your way of writing very inspiring and uplifting. Thanks again for taking the time for visiting and commenting.
Hugs and lots of Love,
Aunty Uta
You’ve been such a strong source of encouragement, Aunty. I wish I could make it over more often. You saw yourself all the people I’d like to get back to. I am so behind. There’s only one of me!! And I’m needed off the blog – at home, too. Ok, going back under ha ha ha ha. I’m so glad the photos help you feel better. Hope your arm is doing well.
Xxxxx
Diana!
Thank you so much, dear Diana. I feel very much after my carpal tunnel release operation last year. I am so aware how pressed for time you are. I feel honoured that you did make a bit of time for me. Thank you very, very much for this!
xxoo kisses and hugs,
Aunty Uta 🙂
I’m struck by how much that first image looks like a place I went to earlier this spring! Big old red hoodoos overlooking a deep canyon just like that! I’ post a photo, but not sure how to do so in comments, especially from my iPad that I don’t use a lot.

We love the Chinese Gardens in Sydney, Linda. It is an island of calm in the midst of a bustling city. In December 2007 we took a lot of pictures in these gardens as you can see when you go to the above link to my blog.
If you post your photo on one of your blogs, I can see it! 🙂
Love, Aunty Uta
