‘Whatever the human cost, it is “worth it,” as Clinton’s former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright said of the half a million Iraqi children that died as a result of U.S. sanctions and the bombing of Iraqi infrastructure – ‘
I wonder how many war ‘criminals’ can be found in the course of human history. We just have not arrived yet at that state in human history where all of us regard every human being as our ‘neighbour’ who should be treated with respect without discrimination no matter how different this ‘neighbour’ may be. Does it really matter if our neighbour isn’t ‘one of us’? Is it not possible for all mankind to live together in peace?

I've lived in Australia since 1959 together with my husband Peter. We have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I started blogging because I wanted to publish some of my childhood memories. I am blogging now also some of my other memories. I like to publish some photos too as well as a little bit of a diary from the present time. Occasionally I publish a story with a bit of fiction in it. Peter, my husband, is publishing some of his stories under berlioz1935.wordpress.com

We can’t even tolerate a few thousand refugees to live amongst ourselves and this Government is fighting tooth and nail to prevent children and families from the most hellish conditions in detention to be treated with respect.
