  1. Here in New Zealand we’re working really hard to promote regenerative grazing techniques among dairy farmers to promote carbon capture in their soil. For the first five years or so it actually serves as a carbon sink, more than counteracting the impact of any methane their animals produce. It works much faster than planting trees – though trees are also needed. After the first 5 years, pasture soil becomes saturated with carbon and dairy pastures become net greenhouse emitters again (of methane).
