Auntie, Sister. Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Mother and Wife of German Descent I've lived in Australia since 1959 together with my husband Peter. We have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I started blogging because I wanted to publish some of my childhood memories. I am blogging now also some of my other memories. I like to publish some photos too as well as a little bit of a diary from the present time. Occasionally I publish a story with a bit of fiction in it. Peter, my husband, is publishing some of his stories under berlioz1935.wordpress.com View all posts by auntyuta

My Dad played a lot of Johnny Cash records when I was a girl. Then my hubby enjoys Johnny Cash. And then one of my sons does, too! So Mr. Cash influenced many generations. π
(((HUGS))) β€οΈ π
I reckon what we enjoyed in the 50s, 60s, and 70s was very different from what the newer generations go for now. I feel quite nostalgic when I listen to songs like this, Some songs may sound s bit ‘schmalzig’ at times. Peter and I did not like to listen to ‘schmalz’ all the time. but there were moments, when a bit of Schmalz was alright! π
And some dancing always brought us together! π
Luckily, some slow dancing I can still do quite well; but now nearly always all by myself! It is amazing how dancing comes easier than walking! π
Hugging you, dear Carolyn!. Love, Uta β€
I love Johnny Cashβs music,Itβs fun to play and sing and everyone loves to Walk the Line and catch the train past Folsom Prison ππ
Thank you very much for your comment, Therese! π
I love to hear Johnny Cash singing! π¦
That unmistakeable voice still does it!
Yes, indeed! π
I didn’t always care about Johnny Cash that much when he was at the peak of his career. But in the subsequent years, and I suppose as I’ve aged, I find his voice a pleasure to listen to and his music seems more enjoyable to me. Times change and I suppose so do we. π
Yes, Debra, more and more, I too love to listen to some of his songs!
It is great to be able to find so much of it on YouTube! π
