Some more Rain onWednesday, the 12th of April 2017

Well, yesterday, on Tuesday, the weather was beautiful. We went to Corrimail to the new Primary Medical Centre:

Peter’s doctor had moved from Dapto to Corrimail. The new doctor in Dapto was on a three week leave. So Peter decided he could see his old doctor in Corrimail. At the same time I managed to see a skin specialist at this centre in Corrimail. She gave me some treatment straight away. I did not have to wait! I was very happy that this service was available.

When we arrived home yesterday all my washing that I had hung out early in the morning, was dry already. It was beautiful to have fresh bed linen! Today, Wednesday, Peter had to start his BCG treatment at Wollongong Hospital. When we arrived back home, it was raining again.

Peter and Astrid were with us in Corrimail yesterday. Today they left early to catch the train to Sydney. They were looking forward to explore Sydney for one day. I hope the weather will be okay for them. They experienced a beautiful mild and sunny day with a light breeze last Saturday. They had booked a trip on the Tall Ship James Craig:

It was a beautiful sailing adventure for them. They loved it very much.

They spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Sydney and stayed overnight in Glebe with C and M. On Friday we spent the day with P and A in Sydney, visiting the Chinese Gardens and walking along Darling Harbour to where the Tall Ship was to have a look at it.

On Saturday Peter and I stayed home in Dapto, but on Sunday we drove to Glebe and had a lovely day there with C and M, and P and A.

Last week on Thursday we went to Port Kembla Beach with our guests. I still have pictures from last Thursday and Friday as well as Sunday and want to publish some of them now:

Uta’s Update, 17th September 2015

In October 2011 Peter and I had a look at Port Kembla Beach Swimming Pool. The beach is right next to the pool. It was a bit cool, however there was no wind. We had a great walk along the beach. There were hardly any people, even though the school vacation was still on. The pool cafe was open. We sat outside under the umbrella with some good fruit juice.

On the way home we stopped at a Lagoon Reserve and watched some pelicans. For lunch we had grilled fish with salad and chips as well as tea. Delicious meal in a hidden away cafe in a close by shopping centre. The shopping centre was full of people including lots of children. I wonder, why some of those people weren’t on the beach on a beautiful springday like this?

I must say, the Port Kembla pool water still seemed a bit cold. I prefer our solar heated pool in Dapto where the temperature is never less then 24 Degrees Celsius. Still, at the beach I went with my feet a little bit into the water. This was very enjoyable!

By the end of September 2011 we went up the escarpment along Macquarie Pass and then all the way to Bowral, a lovely township in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia. There are some lovely gardens in Bowral, and most of the tulips there were still in full bloom. Peter took the chance to take lots of pictures on both our outings. We had a lovely time!

HAPPY EASTER

Happy Easter everyone!

Sydney and surrounds is bathed in beautiful autumn sunshine. We are so lucky that after all this rain during the past few weeks the skies cleared up.

Yesterday, on Easter Saturday, we went to the Nan Tien Temple. We had planned on having a vegetarian lunch in their downstairs Tea Room. The extended car places near the Temple were all taken. It was absolutely amazing how many cars were parked everywhere. We had never seen the place this packed full. It turned out there were celebrations going on for Buddha’s Birthday. However we found out later that the birthday had already been on the 8th of April. Never mind this, more celebrations are planned. The next celebrations are going to be on the Mothers’ Day Weekend.

It was announced on the speaker system that people could register their children between the ages of two and seven. From 12,30 on these children would be given a special birthday celebration party in the courtyard. Everything for free! Later on we saw lots of food- and gift-stalls near the courtyard. We did not get any food there for we had already eaten an excellent lunch in the tea-room.

My choice was first of all some Cappucino.

The coffee arrived well covered in chocolate together with a dish that looked liked minced meat but was vegetarian of course.

I had ordered a curry dish with rice which was delicious. Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of of this rice dish. I took some photos of these interesting glass teapots that contained some exotic teas.

We went for a walk further up the hill towards the Gratitude Bell. Peter took a picture of me near this bell. Martin did give the bell a try chiming it. The sound is very pleasant and carries over large parts of the surrounding area.

Port Kembla Beach was deserted on Easter Saturday Morning.

The wind on that morning was very unpleasant. Lauren did not go for a swim. Peter and I decided too that we would not go into the water.

The previous day, on Good Friday, we had Caroline and Matthew staying with us and also Monika and a lot of her family, including little Lucas.

Lucas liked to play again with some toy cars.

Time to have some marzipan covered Nut Cake that Peter made.

Caroline did bring some home baked apple and plum cake along, and Krystal and Monika had also baked some cake!

Our Frangipani bush started flowering just in time for Easter!

Port Kembla Beach Swimming Pool & Garden Pictures

It was rather hot today, so we decided to drive to Port Kembla Beach Swimming Pool to have a swim. The outside temperature was well above 30 C, however the water temperature was a chilly 19,5 C! Still, Peter and I, we both managed to have a dip into the water.

I remembered I published a post about Port Kembla Pool in October 2011. I am going to copy what I wrote then. I mentioned in this post also our trip to Bowral. Peter took some garden pictures in Bowral. The garden pictures with the tulips are all from October 2011. On the 21st December 2012 we went up Macquarie Pass again to go for another visit to Bowral. We saw the park where they always have tulips in springtime. Since our recent visit was in December, there were of course no tulips to be seen. None the less the park looked beautiful even in summer!
