Pictures from Good Friday 2013

Recently a great deal of care went into beautifying the surroundings of the church. There’s a little pond with goldfish and wooden benches invite people to sit down to take a rest and maybe do a bit of reflecting.

On Good Friday at 10 o’clock the Stations of the Cross started. A great many children gathered in their costumes to take part in the Stations of the Cross. I only remembered today that I had not yet published the pictures I took on that day.

Near the school I noticed the above poster. The Catholic Primary School is right next to the church. There was plenty of space for the Stations of the Cross in the school grounds.

  1. I like the ‘celebrate Australia’s diversity’ – that’s great.

Oh, that pond is so sweet. I’d LOVE that in my place.

My Babasia used to go to Stations of the Cross each year, I cannot forget. She was very Roman Catholic.

  2. Hi Noeleen, I had had no idea that on the 21st March there had been such a thing as Harmony Day. Things like this don’t make the big news, do they? I discovered this poster totally by chance.
I’m glad I went to the Stations of the Cross on that day. These stations were so sad and so beautiful at the same time. 😦 🙂

  3. I love the pond!! That is a great addition. There is something about water that always makes me peaceful, even in a small, confined still pond. Perfect for a church! I love the Stations of the Cross. ox

  4. Long time since I have heard the words, Stations of the Cross Auntyuta, way back in the dim distant past of my altar boy days I think, enjoyed the pictures and memory.

    1. I am sure, Ian, you would have felt at home with this crowd that gathered there on Good Friday. Having the Stations of the Cross in an outside area is a great experience.
I am glad I was able to take some pictures.
      Cheerio, Auntyuta.
