The Hannemann Family at Christmas 2013

By the time this great family picture was taken little Lucas was already asleep on his Mum’s lap. Lucas is the youngest in the family. It was great seeing him for the Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve. It is our custom to give presents on Christmas Eve.

Today we were able to talk to Gertrude on Skype. We promised to email her the above pictures.

  Danke, liebe Gislinde. Wir haben gestern eine traurige Nachricht erhalten. Ein Nachbar von uns, 82 Jahre, ist sehr plötzllich zusammengebrochen. Es besteht die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass sein Gehirn nicht mehr funktionieren kann. Es ist sehr schlimm für die Familie, weil es so plötzlich kam. Seine Frau ist eine gute Freundin von mir. Das Wetter ist immer noch trübe und regnerisch. Es bringt uns in eine nachdenkliche Stimmung. Irgenwann einmal müssen wir ja alle aus dem Leben treten. Aber manchmal kommt es doch sehr plötzlich.
  
  Die Weihnachtsfotos gefallen mir auch sehr gut. Die Familie unseres Sohnes befindet sich ja in Melbourne und sind auf dem Foto nicht mit drauf. Aber zu meinem 80. Geburtstag im September wollen sie alle zu uns kommen. Die Familie will ein Zusammenkommen an unserem Urlaubsort am Sussex Inlet arrangieren. Darauf freue ich mich schon!
