Auntie, Sister. Grandmother, Great-Grandmother,
Mother and Wife of German Descent
I've lived in Australia since 1959 together with my husband Peter. We have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I started blogging because I wanted to publish some of my childhood memories. I am blogging now also some of my other memories. I like to publish some photos too as well as a little bit of a diary from the present time. Occasionally I publish a story with a bit of fiction in it. Peter, my husband, is publishing some of his stories under berlioz1935.wordpress.com

As I understand it, the “Rich” only invest if their is a chance to make more money and plenty of it. If their earnings get taxed too highly, there is no incentive for them to invest.
And the “Poor” only work more if they earn less. So reducing their wages (salaries) as well as taxing their work at a higher rate is an incentive for them to work more and for less.
A “caring” society? I would like to know where should the money come from for the so called “Disadvantaged”? What if the Disabled, the Sick, the Old do not have any money of their own? Who is going to look after them?
It looks to me in future Government is going to have less and less money to do so. The future looks good for people with Capital, Property and Investments. Highly qualified people who can command a high income will continue to have funds for investments etc.
People who have to work hard for very little income are going to be worse and worse off, And people who cannot work at all and have no “Patron” to support them will be on the scrapheap, totally dependent on charitable organisations.
The way we are heading the age of ‘Entitlements” by Government is going to be well and truly over. Here we come: “BRAVE NEW WORLD”!
It seems to me companies will still get their tax concessions and the miner their diesel rebates. By increasing the pension age the government is lowering the cost of welfare, as unemployment benefit is less than the age pension.
In two days we’ll know what is in the budget. Are there going to be any surprises for us, Berlioz? We’ll see.
I am not too worried. To me it does not matter much if I have to pay 6 Doillars for a visit to the GP.
it is a sad state of affairs Aunty Uta, I am glad we will be out of the country for 6 weeks!
Enjoy, Christine, and bring back lots of lovely photos and memories! 🙂
