Cherry BombI come to this blog site when I’m done with all my other work.  In spite of being retired, I find I’m busy every day.  It might be nice, I speculate, to be back working where I could spend some time resting!  LOL   But, it’s the way I’ve always been.  I’ve worked most of my life and that’s the way I like it.  I don’t like being idle.  

When you’re young, you don’t think of much beyond what you see.  I didn’t anyway.   When I’d take a moment to speak with the old man that ran the store near the highway, I didn’t think to ask him to tell me something about his life.  I just spoke to him long enough to gain his confidence that I wouldn’t turn him in for selling me Cherry Bombs and M-80’s.

  2. Liebe Gislinde,
    ich wünsche dir auch ein recht schönes Wochenende. Wir hatten letztes Wochenende am Sussex viele Bilder gemacht. Ich habe jetzt schon drei Blogs davon veröffentlicht. Aber dieser Blog hier, “Ramblings of an old Man”, ist von Devon Texas in Legacy Tales. Devon schreibt da recht anschaulich etwas von seinen Erinnerungen aus seiner Jugendzeit. Mir gefielen diese Erinnerungen recht gut, daher habe ich sie reblogt auf meiner Seite. Devon gab mir Erlaubnis dazu.
    Hatte heute, am Freitag, einen schönen Spielnachmittag mit meinen Freundinnen. Wir spielten wie immer Scrabble und Rummy. Rummy nicht mit Karten, sondern mit Steinen die farbige Nummern haben. Uns machen diese Spiele immer viel Spass. 🙂 Wir spielen immer Freitag nachmittags.

    1. To compare our simple lives of long ago with our present day lives I find very interesting. I am impressed by this recall for detail. I am always happy when people have the courage to write about their memories. 🙂
