There were about 60 plus guests at the party. We all had a good time.

Auntie, Sister. Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Mother and Wife of German Descent I've lived in Australia since 1959 together with my husband Peter. We have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I started blogging because I wanted to publish some of my childhood memories. I am blogging now also some of my other memories. I like to publish some photos too as well as a little bit of a diary from the present time. Occasionally I publish a story with a bit of fiction in it. Great engagement party by the look of your pics, huge crowd, doesn’t look like anyone missed out.
Best wishes to the engaged couple.
Cheers.
Cheers, Ian! Thank you. 🙂
Looks like a lovely party – how could you bring yourselves to bite into those beautiful rose cakes? 🙂 Very best wishes to the young couple for a long and happy life together – and doesn’t Tash look like you, Uta!
Oh, Catt, these rose cakes tasted real yummy! 🙂
Thank you for your best wishes!
Best of luck to both of them!
Thank you, Robert. 🙂
Looks like it was a very festive occasion! How lovely to have that many guests all gathered together to wish the couple well! The cake! Wow! 🙂
You’re right, Debra: It was a very festive occasion! Peter wrote today a blog about engagement parties:
https://berlioz1935.wordpress.com/2015/04/13/two-engagement-parties/#comment-2664
He started the blog saying: “I know only of two engagement parties in which members of my family took part and they were ninety-three years apart. ”
He points out that his parents got engaged in 1922. (Peter was born in 1935). He published a picture of his parents’ engagement party. He also published a picture of him and me in June 1956 and then some more pictures of Natasha’a engagement party.
What a fantastic looking cake!
Hi, Bryan, thanks for coming over to have a look. Your cake comment reminds me, that today, Mother’s Day, we’ll be eating cake at our daughter Monika’s place. Some of Monika’s daughters are going to treat us with home baked cake. They all inherited Peter’s cake baking skills! 🙂
But the above Engagement Party cake was delivered by the caterers. I agree, quite a good looking cake for a special occasion. 🙂
