In the middle of 1977, after we had returned from our overseas trip to Germany, we bought this shell-bed. It was beautiful! When we moved to a new house in 1994 we bought a new mattress for our shell-bed. Well, this was nearly twenty-two years ago. So we still sleep in this shell-bed. Does it have to go now? Do we need a new bed? I wonder . . .
Does it have to go?

Not if you still love it – maybe it just needs a bit of “tarting up”?
Thanks for commenting, Cat. Actually the bed-shell is all white, made of very durable hard plastic. There’s some black upholstering around it which would need to be replaced. And I think, the mattress would need to be replaced at this stage too. Our bedroom space is limited. Getting something that needs a bit less space, maybe would be of some advantage. In any case, it is not so easy to make a decision on it as to what might be the best solution.
A garden seat?
A garden seat, Cat?
Why not. I love to sit in our backyard,
Downsizing forces us to make some heartrending decisions. π¦ Hope it works as a garden seat.
This shell-bed is big enough for our double-bed mattress. Definitely to big for a garden seat. Anyhow, for the time being it has been established again in our freshly painted bedroom. If we decide to keep it, we’ll get it eventually newly upholstered. We did get rid of some other things that used to be in our bedroom. The room feels much more spacious and clean now. New upholstering can wait for a bit longer.
