I've lived in Australia since 1959 together with my husband Peter. We have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I started blogging because I wanted to publish some of my childhood memories. I am blogging now also some of my other memories. I like to publish some photos too as well as a little bit of a diary from the present time. Occasionally I publish a story with a bit of fiction in it. What do you think, Cat, how great is this danger of nuclear war now? Do most people just ignore it that there is increased danger now?
We have lived with the treat of nuclear war for so many decades now, that I fear familiarity has bred contempt. I don’t really think any of the main heads of state – e.g. Putin or Biden – would seriously contemplate starting a nuclear war, but it only takes one loose cannon to trigger the apocalypse. For the sake of my grandchildren and great-grandchildren, I hope and pray that it doesn’t happen. And yes, Lex Fridman is really a very nice person, highly intelligent, empathetic, caring and also a fine musician. Wish I were 40 years younger!!!
I agree, Cat, this Lex Fridman sounds like a very special. likable and inelligent person. How old is Noam Chomsky? I get the impression, Chomsky is highly valued by Fridman. It is absolutely wonderful, how this wise old man can still explain everything that is going on in our world. When he says, a war between US and China would lead to the destruction of organized life on eart! Cat, do you also believe, that this is so? I come to the conclusion, that now our fate depends on whether such a great war can be prevented. What do you think, how can a war berween US and China be prevented?
Noam Chomsky says, if there is a war between US and China in he 21st century, we are finished. It would destroy the possibilities of organized life on earth.
