These trees are my favourite destination when I go for my walk early in the morning. I want to get ready soon to go for a walk. For the last hour or so I tried to retrieve old pictures. Something did go wrong. A lot of my pictures I do not seem to be able to access. What a bummer!
Our daughter Gabriele would have been 62 yesterday. I found this little picture in memory of her.
Above are some previous pictures of the jacaranda tree in out neighbourhood. It is the only one close by and has not got very many blooms left. However I noticed this week wonderfully flowering trees in different towns of the Illawarra. At this time of the year they all seem to be still in full bloom and look very lovely. Unfortunately I never had my camera with me whenever I came near some of these beautiful flowering jacarandas.
The other day I went with Peter for a little walk near our house. It was early morning. Looking up into the sky we could still see the moon. Peter tried to take a picture of it, alas with not much success.
Peter took this picture of me. It was a beautiful morning for a bit of a walk.
It’s a shame these people do not own a larger block of land for parking space! These people are building a fairly large house. I wonder whether they’re going to have enough space for parking?
Today,Friday, the bins are out for rubbish collection.
A lot of work going on right now to improve the local water system.
I cut my walk short this morning because it started to drizzle a bit. I did not want risking to get too wet! I was glad I did have a camera with me to take the above pictures. I use a very old camera now. But it is digital, much like the other somewhat larger camera that does not work any more. I am glad I can now use the very little camera instead. Very easy to carry around!
Early yesterday morning Peter and I went for a lovely walk. The above pictures are from that walk. Today is the last day of October – HALLOWEEN! Some years ago there would always some children come to the door to “trick or treat”. They do not come any more. Why? I suppose they did grow up over the years. But why have not any other children taken their place?
These Irises looked beautiful when they were fresh.
This morning I took a photo of this T-shirt. I think I’ve had this T-shirt for more than ten years and I am still wearing it! Admittedly only at night-time under my pyjamas. So this old T-shirt still keeps me warm at night. And I had always liked this Ancient Chinese Proverb!
MORNING WALK
By 9 am I was ready for my morning walk. This morning I remembered to take my camera along. It was a lovely winter morning full of sunshine. The escarpment looked very clear in the distance. I think today we would not to have any worries driving up Macquarie Pass!
I liked the look of these bottle brushes. The bottle brushes are on this little tree. Here’s another tree with bottle brushes!I started walking across the soccer fields in Lakelands Park.
On the way back Jenny, one of my neighbours, called out to me. She had just started her morning walk. She stopped to talk to me for a while. Then she went on and I went home for a cup of espresso coffee.
Here is Jenny walking:
We had our espresso sitting outside in beautiful sunshine. Peter served the espresso in cups like these:
This morning I ventured out into the rain for a leisurely walk to take some pictures. It was just a drizzle and absolutely calm. I was able to walk with an umbrella without having to fear that some nasty wind would rip it apart. The bush smelled lovely after being slowly soaked with beautiful warm rain. Yes, it’s still in the low twenties, Celsius I mean. For me this is still a very pleasantly wet summer day.
This is part of Cambridge RoadSome Footpaths in Cambridge Road remind me a bit of the tracks we used to walk along at Sussex Inlet. This is near a bridge over Brooks Creek.
There still isn’t much water to be seen in this part of Brooks Creek.
And then I walked back via Lakelands Park.
Brooks Creek ‘flows’ along beside the wooded area on this side of Lakelands Park. Someone tried to build an access here for walking down to the creek. This is the place opposite our front door.My umbrella did get only a little bit wet. So I decide to take it inside to dry.As I enter the living-room I can see Peter being busy with the computer.
At about half past eight in the morning of today’s New Year’s Day we drove down to Lake ILLAWARRA at Kanahooka and went there
for a leisurely walk. It was a fairly warm and calm morning, meaning there was no breeze. However, the sky was quite overcast. And the cicadas were very, very noisy! Lots of walkers and runners greeted us on our walk. They all had had the same idea we had that it would be good to start the New Year with an early morning outing.
We were hoping for the sun to get a bit more through the clouds.
Peter reminded me that we should be back home before 10 o’clock to watch the live special German News of the Deutsche Welle. 10 o’clock our time was midnight over in Berlin where Fireworks Celebration at the Brandenburg Gate were to be shown. We made it in time for the big show. Ten hours earlier of course we had been watching on TV the huge Sydney Fireworks. At that time we had welcomed the New Year with some sparkling wine. Between the two of us we had half a bottle of that sparkly. That meant we had half a bottle left. It was not difficult to empty that left over half bottle at 10 o’clock in the morning! Peter’s sister Ilse, who lives in Berlin, soon did welcome the New Year by doing some skyping with us. Isn’t the technique marvellous for occasions like this? 🙂
Peter took some pictures too on our morning walk. Here are some of them:
