Coming Home from Sydney

For part of the way the ocean can be seen from the train. This is going home in the late afternoon after having spent some time in Sydney. These train-trips are rather exciting because it’s such a beautiful scenery.

  1. I love train travel. I haven’t done a lot of it, but a few trips cross country and all before digital cameras! What fun I would have today! 🙂 It looks like you had a very lovely time. I always prefer a view of the ocean!

  2. Thanks for the comment, Debra. This trip along the coast is really special. Trying to take pictures with the digital camera was fun for me. However most of the pictures I took I didn’t publish. Even the ones I did publish aren’t all that good but they give you an idea what a beautiful trip it is. We go to Sydney and back more often by train than by car. For us it is much cheaper by train. And I find it more relaxing too. As pensioners we can buy special day excursion tickets.which cover the whole outer Metropolitan as well as the Sydney area. Bus and Ferry-trips are included! We couldn’t ask for more..

    1. I’ve never been to America, Robert, except for a few days at Anaheim to visit Disneyland with out young daughter. The three of us (Peter included) loved Disneyland a lot. We had a great time there. This goes back more than twenty years now.
The view of the ocean is fantastic. Here in Australia we’re surrounded by a lot of ocean. Last year we traveled along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. This was a great experience too.

    1. Oh yes, Munira, usually I much rather like to travel by train and not by car. Next month however, when we go to Melbourne to visit our son, we’ll be going by car. We plan on traveling a bit into the country first and have some overnight stops and then go on to Melbourne.
