Peter had to have treatment at the Dental Center for a broken off tooth and I had to go for another visit to a dental clinic for getting new dentures fitted. I’ll have to go to Sydney two more times for further fittings. Caroline came to see us again and later on also Matthew. It was great to see them both.

Last Saturday Peter and I went on this excursion to the highlands. Sunday I ventured on my own for a walk to Lake Illawarra while Peter did his running training. I took heaps of pictures at the lake. So here I show some of them.

This is Brooks Creek that flows into the Lake.

On Monday we went on an early train to Sydney and could see the sun rise shortly after seven.

  1. Funny. There is also a Hyde Park district here in Boise, Idaho! I always laugh about that. Ours was actually named for an early resident of the area.

Love you photos, especially the one of the pier extending into the water.

  2. Thanks, Linda. This week is the last week of the winter school holidays. So far the kids were very lucky with the weather: Cold nights, but lovely sunshine during the day. 🙂 Lots of kids take the chance to roam about outdoors in this beautiful winter sun. Near the lake are great areas for picnics and barbecues. Also there’s a lovely large playground. Many families had a great day near the lake last Sunday. But I didn’t dare to take pictures of all the people. I always worry that some people might not like it.

  3. Thanks, Gerard. 🙂 I agree, 4 minutes already makes a difference. To be outside in the lovely winter sun on a clear cold winter day with no wind is just lovely. However sitting inside you have to rug up and sit as close to the heater as possible! Warm drinks are very welcome too.
Peter had seen the dentist yesterday. A piece of one of his molars had broken off. The tooth did not hurt but was in a bad condition and couldn’t carry his dentures any more. The extraction was difficult but without any pain for the spot had been sufficiently numbed. However, just now Peter started to feel some rather annoying pain. His face is a bit swollen too. I think he needs a good rest.

  4. What a gorgeous lake! It appears to be huge! I love the statue of Queen Victoria, too. Hope the dental work goes well…it always feels so good when those appointments conclude!

    1. Yes, thank you Debra. Peter is all right now with his teeth. The lake is a great feature in our area. Peter took the picture of the statue the other day in Sydney. I like the trees as background. 🙂

Gislinde

  6. Beautiful photos, Aunty Uta. You really DON’T go out without your camera, ever!! 🙂

That’s a long way to go for teeth, but I”m sure will be worth it.
