Today is the last day of October – HALLOWEEN! Some years ago there would always some children come to the door to “trick or treat”. They do not come any more. Why? I suppose they did grow up over the years. But why have not any other children taken their place?
These Irises looked beautiful when they were fresh.
Tomorrow we’re going to meet the in-laws for lunch. We’re very much looking forward to this. Today is going to be very hot. I think tomorrow it may be getting even hotter, However we had some very cool early morning hours. The temperature was as low as 18C, quite cool really for by around lunchtime we may have about 40C or more! We bought recently a portable air conditioner. So far we did not have to use it yet. But should during the next few days the temperature in our house rise well above 30C then to have this portable air conditioner might prove to become very beneficial!
We always buy fresh farm eggs. There is an IGA shop close to where we live. This morning when it was still cool enough, Peter and I went for a walk to that IGA shop and bought a dozen of these locally produced farm eggs. During our walk my thoughts turned to a few things my father liked to point out. I think Papa often looked at politics in a very philosophical way. As in a lot of things in life he very much disliked any exaggerations. So also in politics. I could not say whether he was more left or right. It seemed to me he was exactly in the middle! He often would explain how important the middle in politics could turn out to be. He called it “Das Zuenglein an der Waage!”
“Ich bin hier!” – I’m here! – Peter called out. I had just been shooting a few pictures. Camera ready, I took a snapshot of sneaky Peter. He had actually sneaked up on me. I hadn’t noticed at all that he was that close to me!

These pictures were taken during our early walk on Friday, the 20th of January 2017.
This might grow into a big tree if nobody cuts it down.
I could not help myself, this morning I went in search of that little tree again. Did someone collect all the berries from it? Is this why I cannot recognize it any more? Anyhow, it was another glorious morning. I was happy to go for another walk in Lakelands Park while  taking more pictures of big trees and the bush along the creek. I also made a bit of time to sit down on that special bench reading one chapter of The little Prince.
Over the distant mountains a bit of early morning fog.
The ‘Bush’ along the Creek
Some beautiful Trees on the other Side of the Park.
These have a beautiful smell flowering now in spring (November).
Looks like this villa is still for sale.
Saturday morning. Sometimes all the cars are gone. Not today.
Peter just returned from his morning run. We’re soon going to make another cup of tea.
The rain has stopped. This morning I had another beautiful walk along Cambridge Road. I took the same walk yesterday morning too and also the day before that! That means I’ve been walking the same route for three days in a row.
Yesterday I did not take my camera along. But today I did. I’ve been taking pics on these morning walks so often! However, I always spy something else I want to capture. I hope I don’t make it too boring for you to show you some more of the pics I took.
The area along this fence is meant to be a public access to the creek.
This is what I see looking down from the bridge where the creek should be!
More and more stuff grows where supposedly some time ago a creek was happily flowing along.
When I reached Lakelands Park the sun had come out a bit.
It’s always good when we can make time for an early morning walk. I was happy that I could go walking with my finger shoes. They really feel like walking barefoot.
I said I took a lot of pictures on that Friday. Here now are a few more of them.
I went through Lakelands Park early in the morning.
On the way back, looking at neighbours gardens, I took pictures of anything colourful in their gardens and last but not least also again a few pictures near the entrance to our home.
