Father’s Day last Year

On Sunday, the 2nd of September 2012, Peter and I had a lovely day with our youngest daughter. This was Fathers Day here in Australia!

We took a walk to this lovely lake site.

Last Tuesday, 17th September 2013,  we took a walk to this part of the lake. It rained a little bit. We mentioned to Martin, our son, who was with us, that we had been here last year on Father’s Day with daughter Caroline.  On that day last year there had been glorious sunshine as can be seen on these pictures from last year.

Martin found out later, that this spot  was actually on one of the two arms of Mullet Creek which both go into Lake Illawarra.

Peter took this picture of Caroline and me on Father’s Day in 2012

Along this footpath we walked back to where the car was parked
At Forest Grove we were being served beautifully brewed tea which was being kept hot with tea-lights.

Peter had to have treatment at the Dental Center for a broken off tooth and I had to go for another visit to a dental clinic for getting new dentures fitted. I’ll have to go to Sydney two more times for further fittings. Caroline came to see us again and later on also Matthew. It was great to see them both.

Last Saturday Peter and I went on this excursion to the highlands. Sunday I ventured on my own for a walk to Lake Illawarra while Peter did his running training. I took heaps of pictures at the lake. So here I show some of them.

Diary, July 2012

From the first of July to the fourth of July daughter Caroline stayed with us. It was so good to have her at our place for a few days. Matthew had booked into Wollongong University for a daytime Winter Seminar about philosophy. In the evenings he stayed with us. Caroline had always cooked lovely meals for our dinner. She also baked a wonderful cheese cake for desert. Unfortunately we didn’t take any pictures at home.

On a cold windy day we went for a walk with Caroline along the lake. I asked Peter to take some pictures with my camera. I really like these pictures. I also like the pictures with Gaby in Merrylands. These pictures were already taken two weeks ago. Doesn’t Honey look sweet with that coat on? You  can see it must have been a cold day:

On a cold day Gaby always lets the dog wear this warm coat.

Here now are the Merrylands picture

People can sit on these beautifully arranged tiles that look like a carpet. This seat was very popular with young kids to roam around on. The children are on their winter break at present.
As I said this is Honey with her special coat to keep her warm.
