Another Morning Walk

At the beginning of the month we drove to the top of the hill where this new mansion stands.

From up there we did get a good view of some new developments.

Now, back to Lakelands Park where I went this morning for my little walk.

This is the little playground in Lakelands Park.

We would like to take Lucas to this park one day.

Diary, Wednesday, 18th December, 2013

We are ready for our early morning walk.

It’s always good when we can make time for an early morning walk. I was happy that I could go walking with my finger shoes. They really feel like walking barefoot.

Saturday Night at Bulli Beach

We had arrived at Bulli Beach on Friday, the 6th of December 2013, at one in the afternoon. Amazingly, up to Saturday night all the food that we had brought from home, was sufficient for every meal in our cabin up until Sunday morning the 8th, when we had to check out. Saturday night, however, we decided to go out for a meal.

Ruby’s Cafe was close to our Tourist Park. They had special music on that night and tables had to be booked. In passing early in the evening we noticed a lot of people already occupying all the outside tables. We went on past the playground towards the Bulli Beach Cafe.

Looking at the playground in passing I thought of little Lucas straight away. When we had seen Ebony and Lucas on Thursday, the 5th of December, for Monika’s birthday, we mentioned to Ebony that we had booked a cabin at Bulli Beach for the weekend. We discussed then that Ryan, Ebony and little Lucas might be able to visit us at Bulli Beach on Saturday afternoon. Ebony very much liked the idea. She was hoping that they would be able to come even though Ryan had to finish a lot of upholstering work before Christmas. He worked many, many hours so he could have a few days off over the Christmas period.

Unfortunately Ryan did not feel well during the week. A bug seemed to have caught up with him. Still he kept on working all day every day, while having early restful nights. It turned out on that Saturday Ryan still did not feel well enough and badly needed a rest at home. On top of it Lucas started feeling a bit wimpish and Ebony was concerned about him becoming sick and giving us the bug too. So she regrettably cancelled the planned visit to the beach.

I ended up making a lot of pictures of that beautiful playground near the beach. I am sure some of the things even 17 months old Lucas could already have enjoyed.

On we went to the Bulli Beach Cafe. We had a glass of wine there each as well as burgers. My burger was vegetarian with a huge mushroom and Peter’s was with some beef. After the meal we went outside and I took some more photos.

We went back passed Ruby’s Cafe where a lot of people were still sitting outside.

1994 to 2001 in Pictures

I think this last picture was taken in September 1994 when we had just moved into our new home in Dapto. The hammock found room in our backyard. Ryan, one of the twins, would have been fifteen at the time.

In December 1999 Caroline turned twenty-one. We had lunch with the family and some of Caroline’s friends at a club. Later the family came to our place where the following picture was taken. Gaby is in her wheelchair. Her carer David can be seen in the left of the picture. Martin carries his daughter Lauren, who is only one and a half, Monika carries Krystal who is two. Roxy and Tashi are seven and eight.

This is near our holiday place at Sussex Inlet in early 1995. Tashi is 3 1/2.

There were always some friendly kangaroos around at Sussex Inlet.

In early 2001 Peter’s sister Ilse, who lives in Berlin, came to visit us for a few months. The following pictures were taken near that playground about 500 meters behind our house.

Back to Cooler Temperatures

This week turned out to be much cooler after the very hot spell of weather we had during the previous week, The cooler weather gave the firefighters a chance to get on top of the fires that had been out of control in very strong, hot wind. Sadly quite a few houses were lost. We are told we still have to be vigilant for conditions can change quickly.

Peter and I went for a little walk early this morning. Today I remembered to take the camera along. I took pictures of the reserve behind our house. The Junior Soccer Club has quite a few soccer fields on this reserve. There is also a playground close by. When we moved here to this area nineteen years ago, some of our grandchildren were still little. We would sometimes walk with them to this playground. I think it still looks pretty much the way it looked nineteen years ago.
